A lot of my Christian friends, both personal, and on Facebook, seem to really be stressed about their participation in this upcoming election.
Here’s some perspective, both scriptural, and from the basis of civic responsibility in a free country.
No Need For An Excuse To Vote
*You don’t need to invoke God when you tell people you’re going to vote in the upcoming election. Voting is your civic responsibility in a free nation that God has blessed you with.
*You don’t need to keep saying “God is in control”.
That doesn’t mean He couldn’t control everything. He just doesn’t.
The control is in the hands of the people who vote from their free will and responsibility as Americans.
And just so you remember: 2Co 4:3-4 “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
God IS NOT IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING because He has chosen not to be.
God did not “control” Obama into office.
Abortion loving, deviate promoting, Muslim advocating, Barack Obama has been in office for 8 years. Did God put him there?
Voters put him there.
If you (Christians) don’t vote, that only leaves the ones mentioned in the Bible verses above. Those with blinded minds.
God does not expect you to exclude yourself from using your civic influence in the free country He has blessed you with.
Stop apologizing and do what is best for America.
>Not voting is not an act of righteousness because your conscience is soothed.
Not voting is a self serving position of non-participation in a process that determines who the next president of our nation will be.
Do you really think there is some kind of nobility in not exercising your God-given influence?
Go vote. Don’t apologize. Don’t presume things about God not stated explicitly in scripture.
If you can’t vote for a candidate because of their personality, vote for them to put a party platform in place to protect the unborn among many other grave considerations.
And don’t think God will do everything we need for us without our participation while we sit and watch our country go to hell.
Without the voting influence of self serving Christians who want to be sure they continue to “feel good” regardless of who takes the helm of our country.
